An array of attachments can be mounted on the main drive by a means of flange coupling system for operation like: –
A) HD 410 AC
The Horizontal main drive, HD 410 AC, which is completely maintenance free, has 1 HP 0.75 KW, three phase AC motor. The motor rpm can be controlled with AC variable drive to adjust the speed steplessly from 0 to 410 rpm. The process time is auto controlled through timer relays.
The various attachments can be quickly attached & interchanged to the main drive unit. A separate power supply socket is also provided for the attachments requiring heating.
B) VDM 4 SP
The vertical drive unit, completely maintenance free, is equipped with 1 HP, 0.75 KW, DC motor. The motor is controlled with DC thyristor drive for speed adjustable from 0 to 410 rpm, displayed on electronic rpm meter. The process time is auto controlled through timer relays.
The various attachments can be quickly attached & interchanged to the main drive unit. A separate power supply socket is also provided for the attachments requiring heating.
1) BALL MILL Type – BM-5
Ball Mill can be used for grinding crystalline material, for mixing dry materials and under certain conditions wet materials. Ball Mill consists of three main parts. Drive unit with stand, Ball Mill jar with cover and stainless steel balls. The jar cover is held in place by a knurled screw and support, which forces it against a rubber gasket for airtight seal. The Ball Mill jar top cover and balls are made of stainless steel material. Ball diameter varies between 15 mm to 25 mm. The ball Mill jar rests on two rollers. The speed rotation is controlled by electronic speed controller. The Ball Mill jar & balls may be sterilized in a water bath. The Ball Mill is suitable for screwing on main drives.
2) COATING PAN Type – CPS
Coating Pan can be mounted on Motor Drive unit via Universal gearing type – UD, which permits Coating pan to be held at any angle up to 45o with reduction in speed. For drying the coated-tablets an infrared drying attachment with adjustable height is provided. The maximum operational capacity is 30% of coating pan volume. The coating pan is suitable for screwing on all main drives.
3) CUBE MIXER TYPE – CMS-15
The Cube Mixer is based on a movement, which through its tumbling effect produces a homogeneous mixture in the shortest possible time. The product to be mixed is treated very gently. The Cube Mixer can be attached to the Universal Gear Type (UD), which can also be used for operating the coating pan. The Mixing movement of the product in the mixer is deflected and interfered by three mixing rods made of stainless steel. The Cube Mixer is suitable for screwing on all main drive units.
4) DRY GRANULATOR Type – DGS – 2
Used to granulate tablet slugs and pellets. Two power drive rollers with teeth force material against breaking combs. Special design results in low proportion of power. When using hard slugs, from 2 to 2.5 mm thick, the following granulation will be obtained, 45% – 16 mesh, 25% – 24 mesh, 10% – 70 mesh, 20% powder. The dry granulator is suitable for screwing on all main drive units.
5)DOSING FILLING FOR OINTMENTS Type – FMO
The attachment is suitable to fill drip free and dose accurately, ointments, creams, pharmaceutical and cosmetic emulsions, toothpaste, oil paints, liquids,
detergents, jam, mustard, ketchup, honey and similar products into tubes, jars, bottles, plastic containers, etc. Other advantages are the easy adjustment, the quick removal of the pump and hopper for cleaning and sterilizing and the really space saving design as a table machine.
It has a filling range from 50 to 200 ml. In order to obtain exact filling volumes, cylinder and piston must be changed over when filling smaller quantities than 50 ml. Depending upon the type of product, an exchangeable nozzle is used which is supplied with the apparatus in three different diameters, with openings of 2mm, 4mm & 8mm.
The hopper has a capacity of 18 litres, and all parts in contact with the material to be filled are made of stainless steel. The Dosing Filler is designed to be connected on all main drive units.
6) HOMOGENIZER Type – HMG
Used in the preparation of oil-in-water and water-in-oil construction in quantity upto 30 Kg. per hour. A piston pump produces homogenization. Materials may be fed to pump either from a hopper, having a capacity of 1.5 litters, or a screw nozzle may be attached with a suction filter, which sucks the premixed materials from a storage container.
Homogenization takes place by the forward and backward movements of the piston. A vacuum is created during the backstroke of the piston, which sucks the liquid back. During the forward movement of the piston, the liquid is pushed against the tip of the nozzle.
Adjustment of the nozzle determines the fineness of the homogenization. Homogeniser is equipped with a graduated scale. Hopper, piston and nozzle are made of stainless steel. The homogenizer is suitable for screwing on all main drive units.
1. Heat-able Funnel.
Made of stainless steel supplied with electrical heating unit to maintain temperature to 0o C (140o F).
2. Filler and Circulator
To speed bottle filling permits filling directly, into bottle and recirculate overflow material to hopper for re-homogenization.
7) PLANETARY MIXER Type – PMS
An ideal mixer for creams, ointments, pastes, liquids, and wetted powders. The sturdily constructed planetary gear can be equipped with various mixing and kneading attachments, made of stainless steel each of which is easily interchangeable. Depending upon type of the material to be processed, a dough arm, a mixing paddle or a wire whip can be supplied at an extra cost. Any material, which sticks to the walls of the kettle, is scraped continuously by the Teflon scrapper, which is shaped to fit exactly the kettle wall. Therefore, homogeneous mixing results in the shortest time can be achieved.
The planetary mixer is suitable for screwing on all main motor drives.
8) POLISHING DRUM Type – PD
The felt-lined drum is designed for polishing coated tablets. The covers, which locks quickly into places with three snap closures, as well as the bottom of the drums are lined with felt. All felt parts are easily exchangeable.
The cover is fitted with acrylic sheet window, which permits the observation of the polishing process. The polishing drum is suitable for screwing on all main motor drive units through Universal gearing (UD).
9) UNIVERSAL GEARING Type – UD
The Universal Gear is required for adjusting the operating angle & for the speed reduction of various KALWEKA attachments. The gear allows infinitely variable adjustment of angle of operation from (0 to 60) degrees. The Gear is common to the following attachments (it is not necessary to purchase an individual gear for each attachment, they are interchangeable).
- Miniature Ball Mill.

- “V” Blender
10) WET GRANULATOR TYPE – WGS
This machine is equipped with an oscillating rotor suitable to manufacture wet granulates of various granule sizes. Sieves are easily interchangeable. Rotor, sieve and all parts coming into contact with the materials are constructed of stainless steel. Each apparatus is supplied with one sieve each of 1.0 and 1.6 mm mesh size.
The following mesh sizes are available for the wet granulator type WGS on request. 0.315, 0.63, 0.8, 1.0, 1.25, 1.6, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.15 mm. The capacity of the machine depends on the material and the mesh sizes of the sieve and is maximum 20-25 Kg. per hour. The wet granulator is suitable for screwing on main Motor drive.
11) PLANETARY MIXER VACUUM JACKETED Type – PMS-VJ
An ideal mixer for creams, ointments, pastes, and liquids, but also for wetted powders. 12) AGITATOR TYPE – AT
Agitator can mix all types of different viscous liquids. Agitator consists of stirring kettle arm and agitating driving unit. The kettle and stirring arm are made of stainless steel. Agitator is used for stirring, agitating & beating all kinds of liquids, emulsions, suspensions and similar mixtures. The kettle can be supplied with double jacket for cooling and heating by water (optional). The agitator is suitable for screwing on all main drive units.
13) COUNTING FILLING & TABLET TYPE – CFT
The attachment is suitable for automatic counting and filling of tablets, capsules, coated tablets, pills, as well as lentil, bean or ball shaped objects with a diameter from 5 to 20mm into bottles, tins, etc. Change over from one set of filling parts to another and from one object-shape to another can be done in a few minutes. Tablet and Capsules are counted using filing or counting tracks. Coated tablets and similar objects are counted with a rotating disc. Capacity depends up on the size of the object and number of objects in each container. Tablets and Capsules range between 1000 – 1500 fills per hour, coated tablets between 1500 – 1800 per hour. The apparatus can be supplied as a combination machine for all types of objects or only for tablets or capsules or coated tablets. For manufacturing counting discs for coated tablets, which can be order at any time, sample of the object and container are required.
All contact parts are made of stainless steel, anodized aluminum alloy or plastic. The counting and filling attachment is designed to be connected on all main drives.
14) DRUM HOOP MIXER TYPE – HM-5
Drum Hoop Mixer has been designed for mixing such as powder and granules. The Drum Hoop Mixer is equally suited to research as well as industrial use in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical and plastics fields. Drum Hoop Mixer comprises of two parts.
1.The Drive Unit with drum hoop support stands.
2. Acrylic mixing drum with rotating fixture.
The Drum Hoop Mixer is suitable for all main drive units
15) DOUBLE CONE MIXER TYPE – DCM-5
Double Cone Mixer is useful for free flowing product or granules. It operates on free flow principal. The mixing is achieved by the cone. The mixing drum made out of stainless steel having capacity of 5 ltrs. Operational capacity is 50% to 60%. The cone mixer is suitable for screwing on all main drive units. Also DCM available with 1 ltr., 2 ltr., & 3 ltr.
16) DOSING FILLING FOR LIQUID TYPE – FML
Some of the advantages of this machine are, accurate dosing, drip free filling, easy adjustment, fast disassembly of the pump and valves for cleaning and sterilizing and really space saving design as a table machine.
The Dosing Filler fills and dispenses all liquids with two pumps and valves made of stainless steel each of them ranging from 25 – 150 ml.
If volume of less than 25 ml. have to be filled, smaller pumps and valves must be used. If filling quantities of 150 – 250 ml. are required, both pumps can work on one common filling needle. Different sizes of dosing pumps can be supplied. Filling needles are made of stainless steel and can be supplied for any container to be filled.
The vial holder can easily be adjusted for any size vial. The Dosing Filler is designed to be connected on all main drive units.
17) POWDER MIXER TYPE – PM-5
The Powder Mixer having horizontal half round bowl open on upper-side with acrylic cover and specially designed mixing blade having two stages both right and left hand, ribbon type mixing blades.
The left and right hand spiral with upper and lower blade is rotated to circulate the material to be mixed. The half round bowl and spiral mixing blade made out of stainless steel. Within few minutes, it can be empty by tilting. Top cover provided with electro-magnetic interlock, which stops the motor of the Drive Unit automatically.
The power mixer is suitable for all main drive units.
18) LABORATORY KNEADER TYPE – LMZ-5
Laboratory Kneader is operating on the Z blade principal. It comprises of a mixing though inside of which two Z-shaped mixing blades rotate towards each other at different speed.
The special shape blades with differential speed at which they operate cut down substantially the required batch mixing time. The bowl and Z mixing blades are made of stainless steel.
The bowl having acrylic cover which allows visual observation of mixing and above cover is having electro-magnetic safety switch. The Laboratory Kneader is suitable for screwing on all main drive units.
19) LABORATORY MIXER TYPE – LMS
The mixer operates with plough shape type mixing elements and is designed for dry mixing of powders, granulates and fiber particle containing products. Differences in volume ranging to 1: 1,00,000 can be mixed homogeneously within a few minutes.
The drum, unilaterally supported on one side & is tiltable. The mixing drum made of stainless steel has a removable cover through which the material can be fed and discharged. Electro-magnetic cover interlock stops the motor of the drive unit automatically when the cover is removed. The mixing tools as well as the connecting flange of the mixing drum are of stainless steel and are highly polished. The drum is attached with an adjustable tension ring.
The apparatus is suitable to be connected to all main drive units.
20) PELLETIZER TYPE – PLZ
The unit is equipped with a tilting and locking device, which is easy to operate. This permits adjustment of the infinitely variable setting of the pan angle, over its whole range. For the cleaning of the sides as well as the bottom of the pan an adjustable scraper is
Parts coming into contact with the material to be processed are made of polished stainless steel. The Pelletizer is suitable for connecting to all main motor drives. The material to be processed is fed manually, or with a metering device, if required. The tilted palletizing pan, which rotates in a clockwise direction, is fitted to main drive. The material is brought to practically the highest point of the pan and then rolls down in an even stream, to the lower half of the pan. In accordance with the nature of the material the necessary quantity of liquid to form the pellets is added in certain places. The rolling movement and the addition of moisture causes pellets form. Due to the tilted pan and the movement of the material, the larger pellets are carried to the top surface. The size of the pellets can be influenced by the tilting angle for the pan by the amount of liquid added and the method with which it is introduced. As soon as the pan is full, the pellets will continuously roll over the edge of the pan.
21) TRIPLE ROLLER MILL TYPE – TRM-5
This machine is used in the preparation of ointments, salves, pastes, doughs and similar products. The hourly production is from 2 Kg. To 12 Kg. depends upon the consistency of the material. The rolling action is produced by three hard stainless steel rollers, which are 110 mm long, and 50 mm diameter. The two outer rollers are spring supported to eliminate the possibility of damage to the rollers or to the operating mechanism. Space between rollers is regulated by turning one thumbscrew. The roller mill is suitable for screwing on main drive.
22) FILLING MOULDING SUPPOSITORIES & LIPSTICK TYPE – PFM-L
This apparatus is used for moulding suppositories, lipsticks and similar products. This equipment permits melting, agitation and mixing during the filling operation. Stainless steel kettle and agitator are heated by a glycerin bath and 1000 watt heating element. Thermostat permits adjustment of temperature of kettle contents from 20o to 100o C by 1 graduation. The sled, below the filler nozzle, holds any type of mould. It is adjustable in all directions and controlled by a hand wheel. Capacity of kettle is 3.5 liters. Heating jacket requires 2.75 Kg. of glycerin. Production varies with material, moulds etc., but production rates up to 4,000 moulds per hour are not unusual. The pot for filling and moulding suppositories and lipsticks is suitable for screwing on all main motor drive units.
The mould as per the requirement of customer can be designed at extra cost.
23) “V” BLENDER TYPE – VB-5
The “V” Blender is self-contained tumble blender intended for laboratory, Pilot-plant and scale-up applications. It is suitable for processing a variety of materials including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, foods, cosmetics, plastics, synthetic fibers. As the “V” shaped blender rotates, the tumbling action brings about mixing of the ingredients. The result is almost a consistent, uniform, predicable blend that can meet the product specification.
The “V” blender can be offered in the capacities of 0.5 KG, 1.0 KG, and 2.0 kg, available in 316 stainless steel. They are easily changeable and cleanable.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION:
Materials to be processed are loaded to partially fill the “V” shaped blender. The blender is set in rotation at approximately 25 rpm (nominal). The material falls as the blender turns, ultimately towards the apex and then towards the legs of the “V”. the particles of the material move in both vertical and horizontal directions so that complete mixing occurs.
24) SIEVE SHAKER TYPE – MSS
The MSS operates on the rotating cam principal. The intensity of the vibration can be adjusted by changing the speed of the drive unit. The shaker can be fitted with various stainless steel sieve sets according to the customer’s requirement. Sieve Shaker is suitable for screwing on main Motor Drive.
25) MINI BALL MILL TYPE – MBM
The mini ball mill is suitable for preparing small samples for analysis / for grinding or mixing small quantities of powdery substances. The ball mill is attached to the main motor Drive through Universal Gear Type (UD). The miniature ball mill utilizes 20 mm diameter S.S. balls.
